Access/Release Pegs Flat End (1 Set 05Ea.)

£25.00

We would like to explain the different types of pegs that are used to regulate and control the security of keys, locks and other items that ae stored on Mechanical Tracker Boards.

This will ensure that you are only using the correct pegs and avoid costly damage to the Mechanical Tracker Board tracks, often by someone trying to force in an incorrect peg.

The  most important feature of Retention Pegs and Release Pegs is this:

they are never on the tracker board together!

When The Release Peg is on the Board the Retention Peg Is Not – this means Release  Peg is IN and  the Retention Peg is OUT

When the Retention Peg is IN on the Board the Release Peg is OUT from the Board.

That is why the system is often referred to as a Peg In – Peg Out System

This is how the system works:

Retaining /Retention pegs (pods) are numbered sequentially and it is these pegs that retain the keys, locks and other small items securely by using a wire hasp security seal, or a cable seal.

The item is now safely secured on the board and cannot be removed unless and until an authorised user comes along and with a release peg (KEYMANAGER system boards) use a bobble ended one whereas  (KEYTRACKER system boards)  use a flat ended one. They are not interchangeable, they release the desired item from the board.

Now this is the magic of the system:  the release peg remains on the board until the item is returned to the board.  When a line manager needs to find out who has a particular item, the release peg gives him/her the information, either by the initials or symbol etched on the peg head or by using a specific coloured peg, a user can be identified.  Simple, fast and efficient. Never ever have to ask “Who Has That Key, Lock or Item”?  You will always know!
